New Clean Install Solution - IP67 Sealed USB

UPDATE: We're having some returned ports due to the thin wires fraying internally with what we'd consider non-severe, average stresses. We're replacing the direct-wire ports with an extension instead:

Any customer who has purchased the original sealed ports can request to have these replacements sent to them at no charge. We're replacing them on a case-by-case basis, as well as we're switching over to using only the extensions.

Stay tuned, we'll have more info soon!

-

OK everybody, there's a cleaner port on the way!

We're still working with Bulgin, but there will be no Buccaneers in the near future. For now, we're going to work with L-Com and sell some of the L-Com IP67-rated, sealed USB ports.

These mount in a 1" hole and are a great way to have a clean install:

We're waiting on the initial order and as soon as we get them in, we'll have some better pics, as well as pics of them installed.

One other thing... We'll see what we can do about that dinky chain.

Stay tuned!

UPDATE: They're here, we've got the first order in-stock. Here are some pictures:

Without Chain:

We still don't have a replacement solution to the chain, but I've got half a dozen bags full of stuff to finish experimenting with. Some ideas have already been tested and ruled out and some are currently being tested as I type this! Stay tuned to see what we do about the chain. If you don't mind the chain or you'd like to figure out your own solution, go ahead and order them up!

as for the chain probably swap it out with a strip of rubber or nylon. I hate rattles and buzzes.

We likey too!

We don't like the chains either. We plan on swapping them all out for you! We'll keep you updated.

Re: New Clean Install Solution - IP67 Sealed USB

Also, don't forget we're offering 10% off orders for our FJCruiserForums friends this month! (see the thread here: OHW August 10% Off Special!)

That should help out a little bit for those who want to get some of the newer-style ports, but are a bit strapped for cash these days.

Many devices charge via USB.

Here are some that I have which I use with our product:
Sony PSP
iPod
Tangent icon MP3 Player
AT&T 8125 & 8925 Phones
Bluetooth Rechargeable GPS
Flexible Light
Laptop Cooling Pad

Some things friends have used it for powering:
Blackberry
Power (for an external pocket hard drive for use with a USB-enabled Head Unit)
Digital Camera Battery Charger

And the list is endless... There are many possibilities!
