H2 review from FJ owner (lots of pics)

So I had the use of a fully loaded 2006 H2, 1st I must say I was very impressed with the on-road performance, but off-road I was SHOCKED at how terrible it performed off-road. Even with rear differential lock, traction control, and 4wd low. I slid like it was on ice on a well traveled muddy road in the rain. Also on a 4'-5' steep dirt hill it couldn't even go up it from a standing start at the bottom and with a running start the rear end slid out and i would up going up it side ways. Now I took the STOCK FJ in these same parts and the A-Trac didnt even kick in! The tires on the H2 were brand new!

I slid so much soon is I got on pavement I thought the tires must have been bald! But as you can see nice tread!

One thing also very bad is the exposed gas cap, look how the mud everywhere and can very easily fall in as you filling the tank.

I did like the range feature so you know how far the 11MPG will get you

and I love the shifter, the push button prevents alot of "oops".

wonder if anyone could mock up this on a FJ? ( dirtyparts? man-a-fre? )

bottom line is this, I see why people bling out the H2 cause it shouldn't be taken off-road.
Power= 6.2l V-8, was good but not great, the FJ is alot quicker off the line.
Ride= very good, I give it good points for when I hot a huge dip on pavement that had scrapes from cars bottoming out and the H2 took it at 60mph very well
wait why am I wasting my time the things so crappy off-road, if you EVER off-road never buy one!!! If you never off-road you shouldn't buy a FJ.

So in my next post Ill just say I really feel about the H2. VVVVVVVVVVV

the hummer uses gm's 6L engine that is standard along its line of pickups, the previous gen denali and 'slade.

in the fatass hummer, though, the engine that made the denali and escalade rockets is a slug.

Still is doing great, not one issue and Ive smashed it pretty hard!

oh yeah and the buttons on the radio channel presets had a 3 second delay in switching to the station, not a big deal but very annoying, but not as annoying as the brakes that squeaked the whole time!!

Nice review.

I have always wondered how much the H2's sucked off-road.
