H2 & H3 have both sliders & side steps? huh?

Huh? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having the sliders? I've seen a ton around Atlanta set up like this. It's definitely a factory option. I wonder if it's just a way to squeeze a little more money out of the buyer or just for looks? I don't know, I did a double take the first time I saw it. Seems rather excessive.

Anyone know if there's a method to this madness?

Well, the sliders would protect the body from the crushing step rails.

Re: H2 & H3 have both sliders & side steps? huh?

I told that to my wife the other day. I thought it was pretty odd. I can't see why that would be useful or functional specifically when you go off road.
And yes it does defeat the purpose of sliders. Of course I am sure someone out there thinks it looks great, so that's one more for form over function.

And it's obvious that this particular H2 is pictured on the roughest surface it will ever encounter.

Exactly no one buys a hummer H2 or H3 from an intelligent thoughtout offroad stand point

Lol...that's funny.

I have seen several videos of Hummers (h2's mostly) doing some awesome things off-road, but I'm sure none of those have the slider/running board/22's w/spinners mods.

I must admit, I would like to go along when Hummers (h1 and h2) hit the trails...would be cool to see something that big tackling obstacles in person.

Re: H2 & H3 have both sliders & side steps? huh?

Well I saw a white H3 last weekend at Paragon and at the end of the day, my FJ was two tone,...yellow and brown from going thru the mud bog. When I saw the H3,..it was still white.
