I went to a Land Rover owners meeting yesterday (my first) and met with a bunch of guys and girls who are also into wheeling. A lot of Discovery owners, a ouple older Range Rovers and couple od D90's. The D 90's were in pristine condition. Thought you all might enjoy some of the pics.
They have a website for their club www.ChicagoLandRoverClub.com for anyone interested.
We were told that no Defenders would be sold at dealerships in 2008. They also said it would be a very long time before we would see them here if ever. He explained that there is always speculation about the Defender.
Is that really a rope around the white D90? Anyway, thanks for the photos Cred. All the Land Rover people that I have met when I had my Disco we're always cool people and enthusiats as well. As far as the new Defender goes, they'll bring it over here, they just have to keep that mystique going. Once they do arrive let's hope they don't do to it what they have done to the Disco and make it pure luxury and with a price point in the $40's.
There's a few good rover shops just north of the stateline (AL-TN).
That would be TLR in Pittsburg, TN. Great guys. Wish I would've had a shop like that close to me when I was wheelin' my Disco. Check out this pic from their front page:

Yep, that be them, well him, Bill over there in South Pittsburg (actually), TN. I don't know where there is a Pittsburg or North Pittburg in Tennessee,so I am not sure what the towns name is all about. I pass by there everytime I go to Chattanooga. Of course, his shop has the requisite "Best 4x4 by far" banner.
Anyway, I think Bill called that a Cuthbert or something. Only 4 of them in the world. 3 in the UK and 1 in TN. I have a picture of his current lineup outside his shop, unfortunately it is trapped in my cell phones memory card. I'll post it up eventually
