Had one; V8, air ride adjustable suspension, $100 oil changes, spent weeks in the shop for various warranty issues. It was a fun road car, I would never do any serious off road stuff in it. It was capable, but there was little to nothing even a reasonable DYI mechanic could do on the thing. Not to mention the cost of repairs to any body damage.
Notice the video had no rocks or boulders, or anything that might cause under carriage scraping or need for rock rails, just an over glorified bumpy road.

You are looking at ~$75k+ for the V10 diesel. No thanks, would be looking at an Audi RS4 first or a used 911 Turbo way before then plus an FJ.
With my VW experience I will never spend that much on a VW, ever.

Could that course be any eaiser? I like that stock wheel effect? "Look what we can do on factory tires" Whoopdedo! I bet many FJ's in 2wd cound take that course.
