Probably because the army doesn't put 22" spinners on them.

Lots of clearance, run-flat technology, torque, larger tires, powerful engine, wide body thus idiot-proof balance.

Downsides? Noisy as all heck on the road. So much so that you can't even yell loud enough at the guy next to you for them to hear you.

Off-highway? No problem.

Plus you're so far away from them that if they decide a burrito the night before was a good idea, you're not subjected to the after party coming out of their tooter.

Sorry, I got carried away by a memory.

37" tires/stupid torque/stupid clearance/diesel/12,000 lb springs/automatic/no computer/24v/dual batteries/submersable/geared hubs/and a troop of guys running behind it keeping it maintaned......to name a few reasons...

Re: H1

If you ever had to drive one on a freeway you would know why they arent ment for civilians. They go 60 mph top speed, and stop like a elephant on ice. I had to drive one from Ft. Irwin to San Diego, and I felt like someone had been hitting my bones with a hammer after. My favorite thing is the transmission is tucked up in the cab, between the driver and passenger, to give u great clearance.

Re: H1

The H1 is a terribly cramped and uncomfortable place to be.

The FJ is like a suite at the Four Seasons by comparison...
