Now taking orders... 08 Challenger SRT8

2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 arrives at $37,995 - Autoblog
Looks like dodge isn't wasting anytime with the basic model, and just getting right down to buisness with the SRT8 version. I'lltake mine in orange, with 6 speed please .

That's a better price than the Charger R/T.

I heard that Hemis will be the only available engine for it, the 5.7 and the 6.1. But it looks like the 6.1 will show up first.

I'm not a huge Chrysler product fan but I saw that car yesterday at the auto show and it is sweet.

I love the car and think they did an excellent job of mixing the retro styling with new styling and features. It is still immediately recognizable as a Challenger. As tempting as it is, two auto payments a month (as well as a large lease payment for some woodworking machinery) are enough for now.

Hope the fit & finish is better on the Challenger! I rented a lime green one in AZ acouple weeks ago and I wasn't impressed. I thought it would be faster too (did get it up to about 130 according to GPS on the way to Lost Wages). I hope Thrifty will offer these next year as a rental. K

I love it, but at that price...I'd let someone else take the initial depreciation hit.

Before we got the FJ, we almost got a Daytona, a GoMango. I thought it was pretty danm fast, especially for a sedan.

I am almost scared to think of what a lighter Challenger can do with at 6.1 stuffed in it.

425hp for $37k, I bet it could keep up with a Vette. Not beat it, but be a close comparison. And being cheaper, I think it can do really well.

True, but it's almost double the price.
