I am looking to purchase an FJ. I would be trading in a 2006 Maxima. Great car, but it's just not "me".
I traded a Titan in for the Maxima because when the gas prices went crazy a couple years ago, I freaked out and traded due to panic on my part.
Turns out the Maxima doesnt get great mpg either. Anyway I had a Ford Ranger before the Titan and I modded both trucks a good bit. I love to mod. And its hard to mod my Maxima.
Hard to mod a car that has a power/memory/heated/telescopic/leather STEERING WHEEL with audio/cruise and Bluetooth controls on it. I put wheels on it but other than that......there's not much to do.
These FJ's are SCREAMING "mod me". And I like that. I think I want one. It would keep me busy for a few years I think.
Anyway, what did you all have or trade in for your FJ?? And do you miss your old ride or regret your move to the FJ??
02 jeep liberty sport...got 100k miles out of it. Bought it in Germany, beat the crap out of it on the autobahn and in the alps and the snow, shipped it back to the USA. Took it all like a champ. Got 6 grand in trade for it. It was a good truck. Hope the FJ is as good to me.
I sold my beloved 1998 Extra Cab Tacoma 4x4. The truck had a 2.7litre 4cyl along with a automatic and if you can believe it with 31's on it, it got the same mileage as my FJ does. I bought it new and it served me incredibly well for over 450,000kms and then it coughed up $6500 in a cash sale courtesy of kijiji.ca. Other than mods I replaced the fuel pump and a safety neutral switch.....and that's it!!!
The FJ has big shoes to fill.....And it seems to be filling them well so far.

I had a 04 camry.....As soon as I saw the FJ I had to get one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Traded it in without the wifes consent...... was in the doghouse for about a week. But its all good now.....the torture was worth it.
