Re: What is Land Rover Thinking??

That would not have happened if BMW still owned land rover now ford gotta get a different segment by using cross platforms for there vehicles. Would rather see defender return.

Re: What is Land Rover Thinking??

That's the weakest Land Rover ever conceived.

Give us back the Defender! Of course, after today's legislation, the Defender and future FJs must now get 35mpg. Prius nation, here we come!

Part of the issue the current version of the defender that is being sold around the world doesn't meet US DOT safety compliance. And the amount of money to bring it in to current US DOT safety compliance along with emission and fuel consumption EPA guidelines is way too much money for a niche vehicle like the defender. This is the same reason we can't get the cool Land Cruiser 70's that are still sold in other parts of the world.

I love the defender but the cost to retrofit is way to high for most people when they can get a FJ/Jeep/ or even H3 for 10 to 15 grand less new then the LR would cost.

Re: What is Land Rover Thinking??

Americans only want cushy 4wd's that are good for bumping parking curbs and driving in the snow to go skiing. Haven't you been paying attention? All of our 4wd's are being diluted to this.
