I'm a BMW fan. Have owned numerous 3s, M, and 5 series. This latest one looks like a blast!

Car and Driver
Recently, we slipped behind the wheel of the 2009 BMW 135i, which goes on sale here next spring. With a 300-hp twin-turbo, direct-injection 3.0-liter inline-six under the hood of that car, though, there isn’t really much room to add usable horsepower in the 1-series.
-Carbon-fiber hood, mirror caps, rear diffuser, and front air intakes
-A claimed "significant reduction in overall weight" according to BMW
-Trunk-mounted Gurney flaps aimed at reducing rear lift at high speed
-Hood-mounted windsplits aimed at increasing straight-line stability (a'la 3.0CSL)
-Racing-type front seats with harness holes, integrated headrests, and side airbags
-Alcantara-covered dash, shift knob, steering wheel, and door panels
-Tii-unique air intakes on rocker panels
-White tachometer, steering wheel spokes, and door handles
-Blue-colored six-piston front brake calipers, tow hook mounting point, driver's seat stitching, driver's seatbelt
-18-inch alloy wheels
-Mesh front grille slats
I wonder where BMW plans to price this little gem. I would love to take this thing canyon carving or do some tight street courses.

According to the BMW website, the 135i Coupe (not the Tii) starts at $34,900. I proced it out with pretty much all the options and it was $46,140 or the cost of my FJC with all the mods.

That's going to put it too close to the M3 IMHO. Depending on the exclusivity, 7k is probably more likely to happen. The M3 is about the amount over the regular 3. This tii seem like it'll be more exclusive then a M series though... I'm betting on very low production numbers. This could be a very collectible car.

So this is smaller and lighter than the 3 series with 300 ponies. That's a screamer.
Sure looks that way. BMW is quoted "significant weight reduction". The 6 piston front brakes screams for 5 point harness, which will work nicely with the pass through seat. I hope BMW can keep this thing under 45k. If they can sell this for 40k, they got a winner.

I would like a track day with this. I've been following it's arrival for some time, is it spring yet?
I gotta tell ya, it's been a while since I lust for a BMW. The latest models just didn't do it, but this one... wow. Makes my heart beat faster looking at it.
