This thread is making yearning for my bike.
What does this do for you then? My buddy and I spent Sunday ripping through some twisties in NC and SC. This was a stop we made on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Re: Why Guys with Motorcycles Ride...

Great (older) thread.. I rode bikes from 1960 until 1983 and loved them; it was just time for me to quit. I learned that a small convertible (i.e. Jeep) was just about as close to a bike as you can get, without actually riding one. Take the top and windows off and it's pretty much the same escape. After awhile (several/many years) a noticed that I no longer took the top off, too much trouble, and just took out the windows. Still later I noticed that I didn't even take the windows out any more and just unzipped them. Life goes on and things change,, Now I meditate in the FJ.. LOL... Ron

I've always been a sucker for an Italian beauty. Thankfully, that "close call" what not what I expected.

Rockstore! That place is always packed on weekends. Saw Arnold there once. He had quite an entourage.

Re: Why Guys with Motorcycles Ride...

I have been a bike rider for many years.

Once when riding west through Texas or New Mexico, on a road trip with no destination and no time frame required. There was a time when I had total freedom and felt the love of speeding along the roads less traveled. I looked down and saw my reflection in the gas tank and I kind of had a zen experience. I still remember that feeling!

OK, I know the highway/safety rules are not followed in this video, But I love this video. I watched every minute of it.

Video 10.07 montee ospédale - porto-vecchio, palavesa, ospedale, vitesse, ghostrider - Dailymotion Share Your Videos

I have have many bikes. In fact, for many years, the only transportation I had was a bike. And that was my choice.

When I was around 19, I drove a bike into the back of a car at 45 mph.

Broke both arms and my leg. They put a six inch plate in my leg, which still hurts at times.

But I was riding a bike again before I was out of all my casts.

I mostly loved Dirt bike types.

But for while I even had one of these! It was amazing to be the different reaction I would get when I rode this around.

And this is what I rode, when I went from Florida to points west unknown, which ended up being Oregon. Too long of a story for here. lol

But how was the bike to ride?

Seriously, great story. I know that I will ride for a very long time. I've gone down. Everyone does. I've jumped right back on and loved every second.

Here's a video I did from the Tail of the Dragon last year. It might help for adrenaline videos that do follow the rules of the road.
