Trust me I will not let the cold get to me like the weird dude dancing to the disco music.....FREAK!!!
My ride is a 2005 Suzuki DR650, one of the best bikes for commuting and off road trails. Now if I can only convince the wife to let me buy a Suzuki VStrom 1000, then I would have a nice city and cruiser.....me likey!

I'm still in shock at what I read on the first page of this post.
With all due respect, that dude (the hater) #1, should not be posting regarding a subject with which he has absolutely NO idea what he's talking about. And #2, his ignorance (not stupidity...maybe for saying it=yes, but not stupidity in what he said, just plain ignorance).
I normally don't pay attention or respond to such gibberish, but I guess I have to realize that there are people out there like this. Hypocrites. "Tough guy" and words like this? Really. Ha. Bet he yaps like a salesman on the ole cell phone while tooling down the road, oblivious to those he's holding up in his "big" vehicle...all while holding up all those "little tough-guys with chips on their shoulders".
hopefully one day he will mature and realize what being an adult is all about. Come on...
Now see what you've done. I'm participating in this. Dammit!
Thanks for bringing a thread with a great post articulating the beauty, agony and joy of being on two wheels to a screeching halt with your insight. As SeanK mentioned, I typically enjoy your insight but in this case, I don't see it. You show your ignorance with your last statement regarding Harley's lack of horsepower, I guess you are doing all you can to irritate all motorcyclists.
I commute on a motorcycle ~200 miles a week having owned one form or another of them since 1970 (well, I didn't really own my own until '75 when I was old enough to buy my own). You comments of how someone is a tough guy because he gave you the US salute followed with the comment of how the next guy will eat your bumper, sounds like more tough guy talk. Taking joy in someone crashing because you felt they were going too fast through the neighborhood...thats sad. I bet you kick puppies when they have an "accident" too.
I guess it is easy to come off as a tough guy, sitting in a truck, feeling invulnerable, higher than thou, able to threaten someone's life with a brake check, just because you can. No harm to you right? Maybe just a small dent in the rear of your truck where the guys helmet made contact with your tailgate. That's ok, you can sue him for riding too close and having to break for that invisible squirrel, causing you to hit your brakes.
But, then again, it may come to be found that you had malicious intent, no cause for doing the brake check and found liable for the crash. You never know, you might get lucky enough for the guy to die and get convicted for manslaughter where you can show how tough you are with your cell mate Bruno every time he demands a "favor".
Its really too bad you have such angst toward motorcyclist. The point of the OP was to share a well written story from the viewpoint of a "true motorcyclist". Just because you see an a-hole on one occasionally, think about how many more you see sitting behind the wheel of a car. The only difference is you can kill the motorcyclist with a quick flick of bad judgement where all you would do if they were in a car is cause some property damage. I guess because a motorcyclist is more vulnerable, it makes the "fair game" and we need to watch out for guys like you, because you have the power to kill us at your whim. All you have to do is give us a little swerve, pinch us into a curb or tailgate/rear end us because you can, it won't hurt you to run us over.
I can tell you one thing for sure, there are way more bad drivers in cars than on motorcycles. Yes, it may be the Darwin effect but it is still overwhelmingly on the side of 4 wheeled driver's than two...
I didn't brake check anyone. I let him pass and he returned the favor with a big old F*CK YOU.
I was simply showing that I was being a nice guy and that most people would have gone with their instincts and did the brake check.
I'm not that much of a tough guy but I am a firm beleiver in "Mess with the bull, get the horns."
In the end, alot of these unsafe riders usually just end up with their guts strung accross the road. Because THEY were doing something stupid. Like an 80mph front wheelie.
I'm speaking only of the unsafe riders. Much respect to the bikers that obey the law because its really easy to take advantage of the freedom that comes with having a bike.
Im glad you liked the Harley comment. I don't know why those things have to be so loud. After all the average owner of a harley is a male in his forties with a median household income of $81700. Not exactly the "Bad boy" bike anymore

Your Harley comment was the funniest thing I heard all day yesterday.
I got rid of my Panhead in 95, when the Harley thing was fast approaching extreme poserness.
My last straw was out at a well known desert bar on a Sun. afternoon.
About 60+ bikes, all blockheads, except for 1 Shovel and these guys kept asking me how much it cost to make my motor look like a Panhead.
Jeez Duh!
Did ya notice the drum brakes and kicker..........

If I recall your statement was more like "next time I see him, I'll just put both feet on the brake". So, yes, you said that because he gave you the finger, you would brake check him next time you saw him, threatening severe bodily harm. Do you do the same when a car driver gives you the finger also?
And, sorry but "most people" wouldn't think of doing it, don't hold yourself on some sort of pedestal like you did something nice by NOT brake checking this rider. My guess is that statement shows your true colors in thinking that "most people" would brake check someone because they were given the finger. Don't have any anger issues do you?
But, its all good. Yup, mess with the bull and get the horns. You mess with the wrong guy on a bike and you will get their horns. Pretty tough talk when you have no idea who is behind the helmet, what he has in his pocket or tucked in his belt. Like others mentioned, doing things as you suggest is considered a threat, potentially lethal threat and my be dealt with appropriate force to deter such threat.
I'm also glad you can do your internet research well to find out the median income of H-D owners. Most don't see owning a Harley as pursuing a "bad boy image", most just like the way they ride, don't feel the need to ride a 200 mph sport bike and like supporting US based products.
Why are they loud? Some like to believe that it helps with being visible, being heard first, then seen. If you have spent more than a few miles on a motorcycle, you would know how drivers will look you right in the eye and pull right in front of you, then tell the cop that they never saw you as your laying on the pavement with your bike smashed to bits. I don't fall into that category myself. But, why do guys with built motors put sweet headers and less restrictive mufflers on their hot rods? Maybe because the like the sound and it might improve performance, right? Isn't that why we have loads of FJ owners putting aftermarket exhaust on a Japanese V-6, because they want it to sound better? What is the difference besides the H-D being able to run louder.
Bottom line is that you drug this thread into the dirt with your negative posts. Got something to vent, generate a motorcycle hater thread and let if fly. Otherwise, get a clue before you get someone or yourself hurt...
