Keep looking Dom. I've ran into some very affordable ones while shopping for my bike. I wasn't a dual sports fan back then so I didn't pay special attention to which ones were affordable.

I also worry that insurance would be a big difference between a full size bike and scooter.. or does it matter?

Dom, I think your math is off buddy. your only putting down 5 gallons a week for the FJ, don't you mean a tank (19 gal) which @ $3.50 = $66.50 a week x 52 weeks = $3,458.00 I think that is what you were looking at right?

Hey.. i think i said ROUGH estimate somewhere in there

I just didnt want to know the real numbers

Someone mentioned in their state ( i think cali.) that their insurance goes by the cc's. So a 49 cc motor was between 60-200 a year!

It does matter, but if I recall, not by much. My liter bike was the same as 600cc. Maybe "scooters" are less. Why not just spend a grand fix your bug. It's not bad on gas and you've always wanted to run that thing. You'd be cooler driving that!

Bah! Save the money on the scooter, mod the FJ, then take up on CADavebert's job offer and your gas money wouldn't be an issue.

Hurry up already. Forget this scooter nonsense. Get the job, get the shocks, and treat us all to dinner!
