Funny that GM may chose to discontinue due to it not being "green" enough....when they have the option of dropping a more powerful, much more fuel efficient diesel into the vehicle. If they did that, it wouldn't be much if any worse in terms of mileage than a 3/4 or 1T diesel full size and with the seating options....they just might sell some to people who don't need a bed. Once again, GM's marketing dept is asleep at the wheel.

But what kind of car will I flip off after the hummers are gone?
Probably FJs, since everyone seems to think my FJ is a Hummer until I tell them otherwise (with a condescending voice of course).
In addition, with all the mods and oversize mud tires, many FJ owners aren't getting much better mileage.
Of course. most 1/2 ton pickups, many full size SUVs, and many minivans (unless carefully driven) don't do any better than the FJ.
I think what would make the most sense is for them to release a Hummer pickup truck. They could even do a full size and mid size. I know this would compete with their GM and GMC brands but I think it would attract additional customers from the other brands, if done right.

You want me to flip off my baby?!
Hummer screwed up when the decided to do the H1 upscale, then even worse when they made the poseur H2. When they first came out (and I was a lowly teenager) a new stripped one could be had for around 40K. I would buy a new stripped hummer for 40K even today, now that I could theoretically afford it.
Despite my ongoing hummer hatred I have to admit the origional is one sweet truck, despite it's shortcommings. I will not miss the H2 though.
