After MONTHS of searching, browsing, calling, emailing, and driving, I was able to finally get the truck that has been on my mind for years.....a white, loaded, low miles (83k), 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser with locking front and rear differentials. Only 11k total were made in 96, and less than 7-8 percent of them had the factory lockers, so it was a difficult item to find in the condition, miles, and color that I wanted. My wife thought that I was chasing a mirage...lol.
No other color would do. I didnt want one that had been modified/improved with bumpers/lifts/lights/tires. I wanted one in the same condition as it came off the factory floor.....bone stock. My FJ is the "mod toy". This one will stay as it is for a LONGGGGG time. Part of the joy of buying it will be the cross-country drive back home.
Jealous again!! I love that style Land Cruiser the best! And it's white! Great find...
Thanks, Jen! Once it was available and the carfax was clean, I jumped all over it.

I looked almost daily for almost 8 months before I ran across this one. There are a few out there, but most average around 130-150k miles or more. Also, a lot of the "locked" ones have already been scooped up and off-roaded pretty hard or modified, so I felt fortunate to find this one in the condition that it is in.
OK, after 2600 miles of round trip driving, it is finally in my driveway. On short notice, I shut things down here, jumped in the car with a friend of mine, and we road-tripped to pick it up. The drive was tiresome, as we covered the entire distance there and back in a bit under 72 hours, but the results were well worth it.
