BRP Spyder

I got to set up and ride a Spyder at the dealership yesterday. It was very fun to ride, kind of like riding a snowmobile down the street. It has nice power and is quick, and the handling is very solid. It sure turned a lot of heads while driving it down the street. My boss swiped it up and took it home right after my test ride for his own playtoy, so I did not get any pictures of it, but I have another one to set up later that I will try to get some pictures of. You can check it out at BRP Can-Am Spyder Roadster.

Re: BRP Spyder

It looks pretty cool, I like watching Lenos video on it.

Personally, I'm saving for an arial Atom.

Re: BRP Spyder

I saw one of those Spyders recently and really liked it. I've been wanting to get a bike for the last couple years but haven't because I don't trust myself enough to ride safely. I think this may be a good alternative for me.

Re: BRP Spyder

I drove one of these at a MSF event in MA. The steering is definitely something that takes some getting used to. You can't physically flip the the thing with the active traction control . Definitely a cool vehicle.

Re: BRP Spyder

How is that registered....as a motorcycle or a special vehicle?

Re: BRP Spyder

I can see it's appeal for those that are a bit shaky on two wheels or have a physical disability or are crazy short...which is way cool as this machine will be more fun and handle much more safely than a trike conversion. Kudos for that and the price...not bad considering what's going on with that machine.

That being said, I would totally rather have a motorcycle...can't do a wheelie on the Spyder! I might be more interested in the Spyder if they could get it to lean while turning...like the 'carving' concept by Mercedes-Benz...that would be sweet because that's the unique feeling of a motorcycle that just can't be replaced.

It would be great if I had a clue, but let's face it, that's just not gonna happen.
