Yeah, does suck to be breathing tractor fumes in traffic. The trucks on the highway, just have to deal with them................

With todays computer controlled injection a diesel running clean fuel is pretty clean. That black smoke you often see is often caused by improperly tuned injection.

...........but, there are a lot of guys out there that get a very big kick out of loading the diesel (can't recall how a friend told me they do it), then dropping it into your open window and laughing all the way home. Many of them drive the trucks that are so tall they touch the ionosphere, have five shocks per corner and about $8k worth of bling on their rides, and whose collective idea of four wheeling is taking their pieces of boulevard bronco trash into the woods and thrashing areas like closed wetlands and revegetation closures, polluting the air with the power-chipped diesels and techno-ghetto rap, and littering the woods with their cheap budweiser/coors/miller cans, buttwipe, camping detritus and all manner of other trash.
I wish most were super clean NCFJ, but unfortunately, it's these monkeys that cause the ill sentiment expressed by Athena, and consequent to the reasons mentioned above, closures of many of the fantastic four wheeling trails we all enjoy. I love the torque of the diesel, but can't stand the redneck mentality of the wannabe monster trucks I've unfortunately observed in the Denver area.
All that said, I'd still own a diesel powered FJ in about a femtosecond!!!!!
