My Fj's new room mate!

Well, I've wanted one of these for about 20 years now, in fact almost got one when I first started dating the wife but she hated it. Guess she felt guilty, cause when I saw it she said go get it. The money was originally going to go to a cheap honda or toyota comuter gas saver. Oops. Well, it still gets decent mileage at least. The paint isn't as good as it looks, and when I flipped the rear seats I found they were german military versions, and the patina has me thinking, I may just patina the whole thing. Anyway, here she is- 1973 VW type 181 "thing".

AWESOME! That "Thing" looks like it's in pretty good shape. I've always been a fan of them and the Super Beetle.

I remember those Things.
It doesn't surprise me that someone who likes the FJ would like Things. It's cool.

Re: My Fj's new room mate!

Okay, like I said the paint was a mix of good paint, spray paint, primer, etc. So I went for it and did the patina. Eventually it's gonna get lowered-no baja thing for me, this is purely street.
