No doubt, the ICON is nice and apparantly they sell everyone that they produce.
Having owned and driven a 1979 FJ40 for 19 years as a daily driver...personally, I think that the original engine was the most endearing part of the FJ40. It always started, no matter how cold it was. There was no off-road situation that it could no handle and it was very easy to work on.

Planting a Chevy/GM engine in an FJ40 is just wrong I am assuming the 2.8 liter diesel option is a Chrysler product...which is even worse.

I enjoy the 350 in my 65 FJ-40.

However if I was to do it again I would put in a 231 V6. Best engine in my opinion for the trails I run. I like the torque range of the V-6 over the V-8.
