New FJ-40?

Hey...

Saw this in Scottsdale AZ...it appeared to be a brand new FJ, a bit longer than the original. What is driving me crazy is I saw an article about these a while back in one of my 4x4 mags, can't find it now. It was NOT one of the replicas made by Icon. Everything about it was brand new...outside, underneath, and interior. It has the new style Toyota emblem in the grill. Any info re: who makes it greatly appreciated! A bet is riding on this.... Pic attached...

Re: New FJ-40?

Hmmm...looks more like a BJ46. Are you sure it's not restored?

Re: New FJ-40?

Just a decent restoration is my guess. Throwing lots of time and money at an old ratty FJ can yield a pretty nice, but still old, FJ.

Re: New FJ-40?

I've seen this before too, It is definitely not a restoration. They are brand new, still being built in some foreign country. I will look into this.

I'll be back..

Re: New FJ-40?

Check out the integrated 3rd brake light. Looks new to me! I thought I found a number of years ago that Brazil was still building the 40. But then the question is, how to get it into the US?
