2004-2005 911 GT3 or 2010 Corvette Grand Sport

Trying to decide between a 2004-2005 996 body 911 GT3 vs the new 2010 Corvette Grand Sport...

Really like the GT3... such a finely tuned car (given the fact there are no electronic aids on it except for the ABS and engine computer) and one of the world's best drivers car...

Porsche 911 GT3 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

or the new 2010 Corvette GS

2010 Corvette Grand Sport: Wider, Sportier, Grander - Corvette Grand Sport - Jalopnik

Which, like the GT3... it has a hand built engine built alongside the Zo6 and Zr1, Zo6 brakes, Zo6 suspension, Zo6 body parts, differential cooler, dry sump oil system, and pulls over 1g, 0-60 in 4 secs...

I don't care too much about interior, both cars are very sparce in the interior, the GT3 has bottom model stereo, cheap plastics, and less sound deadening to decrease weight.

However the limited production GT3 would seem to hold its collector value much better than the Corvette GS...

Either way... it's gonna be a white car with black powder coated rims & black GT3 stripes on the Porsce or Black fender hash marks on the Corvette to match my PandaFJ.

So that being said, which would make for a funner, faster track car?

Other cars I'm looking at are the 4 door E90 M3 or Lexus IS-F...

GTR is king, but it's not natural... It's got so much tech that you have to wonder if you are driving the car or is the car driving you. That and they all seem to have crazy markups.

Something like the GT3 on the other hand is as fast as the driver is skilled... I wonder how the corvette GS compares.

At 50-60 grand there are other cars I would consider, 4 door m3, Lexus ISF, gt 500, challenger srt8... But fir different reasons.

The super sedans like the m3 and isf I like because they are practical everyday drivers and almost as fast around the track as the vette and Porsche... But the isf is a sweet automatic which means I run out if excuses to keep my lady out if the drivers seat with the Lexus.

I like the gt500 and challenger srt8 simply because they just got lots of personality and attitude... But nit the fastest around the track.

yeah... It's a gift to myself in about a year for finishing a sports medicine fellowship...

My pandFj was because I got stressed out working long hours in residency while all my friends where opening businesses and starting families... I know... Counter productive.

That and my speed bug is growing again...

I have tracked porsches for the last 4 years and the GT3 is by far the best track car, this is against vettes, porshces, mazada's, nissan's,mustangs, mini,s
it also is alot up too the driver. Have fun choosing

Porsche 911 is the greatest car ever made IMO, but I'm a vintage 911 guy, my brother is a 80's 911 guy, and my dad has a 996.
