There's a lot of cars around the world that maybe smoother, quicker, or faster than the current crop of American muscle cars. The problem though is that none of them ARE American muscle cars . . . and none of them ever will be.
This video makes me want to go out and buy a Challenger and give it the RAT treatment. Also, please notice the original Challenger in the still shots in the vid . . . that, my friends, is retro done right.

That video confuses me. The speaker says numerous times that will not be the retail one, but then goes on to say "With performance like this, it's justified" after saying how incredibly different the vehicle is, engine, drive-shaft, and shifting wise....what a strange reviewer.
And this is just setup day. Checked the Challenger forums but there lagging. Give it a day or so before people start snapping pics of allthe modded challengers. Either that, or the challenger just doesn't have the presence at Sema that the 5th gen. Camaro does. But i'll
Looks great. I will say, that I was looking at the Shelby GT-500 Mustang, I'd be buying an 08 version with the 500HP engine if I considered it. Right now, the cheapest those are is 37k, so by late 2010, or early 2011, I'd be able to nab one if I considered it.
One question...why does every single used GT-500 have less than 5k miles on it? I checked car max, and not a single one has above that, not even the 07, does it have maintenance issues, or is it just not a daily driver?

Well, a couple of reasons probably.
First, like you said, its not really a daily driver (well it could be) but people that own them probably are using them as weekend cars. It has the Shelby name so many let them sit in hopes of getting a big pay off in a few years.
Second, they came out right when the economy started to tank. People had the money at the time, then had to downsize. A 500HP Mustang wasn't to practical in the grand scheme of things. Especially when it just satin their Garage most of the time.

Well, here's my question. While the Camaro has much better suspension, and better interior, and imo, better looks...is the Shelby GT-500 even worth considering in comparison? If I got a Shelby, I'd be getting a 08, which would be sold around 33-36k, I could get a Camaro SS2, fully loaded leathered up, for that price brand new....so I'm trying to see where exactly the Shelby gets its price tag, if not just for authentic value. Heck, for 35k you could buy a Camaro SS super charged that would destroy a Shelby GT-500, so why the heck is that car so expensive?

Beacuse it has the Shelby name on it, no other reason.
