Re: Just subscribed!

Definitely some great articles and product reviews. If you end up liking it you should check out Overland Expo. Get to see it all first hand and take some useful classes

How much is the subscription? Did you get a special rate? The cover price on that mag is expensive!

Re: Just subscribed!

If you visit the Expedition Portal Forum you might catch a subscription deal. I know of at least 3 so far that made the mag free or better, 2 of which I took advantage of. First one was about 3 years ago and for a 1 year subscription ($45) I received a free pair of Mountain Khaki pants that were worth around $80. The second one was last year, for a 2 year sub ($85) they were giving away a nice Benchmade knife worth about $120. The last one was not to long ago and they were giving away a ARB snatch block, I didn't take advantage of that offer mainly because I already have one and had about 2 years left on my current subscription. When they do these specials they are usually limited to around 100 or so subscriptions (renewals allowed) and go very quickly. As for the magazine, it is full of great articles on vehicle dependent travel, gear tests/ comparisons and fantastic pictures. It is expensive due to the fact that it is a small publication and is printed on high quality paper which is a good thing because I have almost every issue and plan to keep them around for a long time.
