I went and bought a digital camcorder to see how I like filming and editing little videos. Here is my first attempt. Please pardon the washed out color as this recorder cost less than 100 bucks. I figure if I like it I will buy a nicer one. All the shots were setup from a tripod as I didn't have any filming buddies. I cut out some of my mistakes in picking the wrong line. There was one point where I was 4 inches away from being on the wrong side of a crater.
The video is heading out and coming back along gray road. Here is a previous post with pictures and description of the area. Gray Road, Kapoho, Hawaii
I had to use A-Trac on one section where my tires kept leaving the ground. Other than that it was all done in 4H and a pretty easy drive. I can't say enough about how much I like this area.

Reason: Video is up
How are those stock tires holding up on that lava?
The tires are shreaded. There are slices in the sidewalls, chunks out of the treads. I am not sure how much more they can take. They have 16K miles and probably will be replaced before I hit 20K.
very nice! Damn, we had to travel that island in a rented Escape. Lucky!!!!

you have some skilz with video! that would be a killer fj commercial
Dude that video TOTALLY rocked. Heck I know plenty of film producers and I'm sure they would agree this was nicely shot. Ha, amazing what someone with a creative imagination, good taste in music, and a tripod can do.
I was waiting for these two to jump out the back though...
