What in the hell are all these holes?

I was looking through the gallery and found Wakesurfboy's album. Nice carnage pic.
What are all these holes for? Inverter ventilation? If it lets air out and water in too..
it's something to be aware of.

I think the 3 flap thing on the right is what keeps your ears from popping when you close the doors. It is molded rubber and operates out only, unless you put the FJ under excessive underwater pressure, of course. The 3 plugs on the left are non moving to my best recollection and can be removed for accessory wiring I guess. It does seem a bit much though.

It's amazing how FJ Cruisers have those but 85 million dollar F-15E fighter jets don't. Our ears pop everytime we close the canopy to do engine runs. Freakin' McDonald Douglas...

I'm now wondering how the entire FJ would look with the flairing stripped off all over.

I'm seeing an image of a milk delivery truck. Or UPS maybe.

Re: What in the hell are all these holes?

The flaps are for cabin pressure release. I had my rear bumper off last weekend (top secret project ) and when you close any door, the air blows out there. The water issue seems like it 'could' be a concern...maybe it's designed to let water in so we get the whole FJ heritage 'rusting' experience.

Be afraid...be very afraid.

Actually, I didn't bother to look where the flaps actually go or check out the design of them, but I'll do that next time I have the bumper off. (a week or two)
