Wheeling photos

Day was plagued with problems... first my buddy's trailer receives a flat... plug it, inflate it... drive 20 miles and it's dead... off to tire shop... replaced and we're on our way.

First trail Calcite Mines was super short and not very techical but was still fun. Approximately 2 miles from the trail head and did not require atrac or locking the rear. Find the right line and the FJ had no issues going up.

Following that we had some fun high speed runs on washboard and some soft sand...

Fast forward to the last trail the day (Coyote Canyon) and we finally hit some technical stuff that took some spotting. Stock the FJ is incredible, glad I had the better skid plate because it found some use. My friends were really impressed with the stock FJ's abilities.. can't wait to start doing some serious modding and getting just a little bit more clearance and rock rails to worry less about the rig.

Going up the FJ in manual makes for a fun challenge when climbing larger rocks to avoid stalling while not climbing uncontrollably... coming down makes for an even more interesting challenge while braking and crawling.

buddy's built pathfinder loses an oil line =\ luckily at the end of the day.

Re: Wheeling photos

Nice pics. How did that VW do? I have a friend that owns a VW dealership and he has razed me about how great the VWs do off road. How did it do in comparison to the FJ? Curious .....

Re: Wheeling photos

Look at the second and third pics, the Toureg does not have much suspension travel up front?

Re: Wheeling photos

our friends Touareg in the pictures has oversized tires on his 17" which he downgraded from the normal 18" that comes on the V8 Treg.

The car did amazingly well for a stock car with upgrade tires. The ride is very comfortable. Overall very capable offroad vehicle for what its worth.

Re: Wheeling photos

Amazing. It sure doesn't LOOK like a decent off road machine. Impressive.

Re: Wheeling photos

Bugzy took that as we were coming through. I have the original, 10mp if anyone is interested. It's not the sharpest of photos but it's not bad.
