Bandon Beach, Oregon (Pics - FJ & Sunset)

Bandon is located about 30 mins just south on the Oregon coast from were we are in Charleston. Packed up the FJ, Winston and the misses and spent the day discovering still more incredible pics of more beaches. We had a blast and got to see "Face Rock" as well (in Bandon). You kinda have to use your imagination when looking at the rock to see the face, but the more you look the more you can see it!

We are having so much fun out here and hope all of my midwestern buddies are doing well! Anyway, here are the pics.

Bandon Beach Pics:

Bandon Pano (Difficult taking Panos of the beach as the waves are hard to stitch together)

Taken from the seat of my FJ Cruiser (note the A-Pillar in the middle)

This was some interesting fort building that the locals have obviously been working on for some time. There is more driftwood on this beach than I've ever seen before.

This one was taken at "Face Rock" lookout point!

More Panos of the beach and driftwood.

My favorite Pano of Bandon Beach

Me & the boy Winston

This rock is called "Table Top Rock"

Here we found a fresh water spring that was coming out of the cliff next to the beach... gave Winston some much needed fresh cold water

A neat little break between the rocks

Some baby seals/sea lions can't tell the difference really (from this distance)

The other side of the walk way

Pics from "Face Rock" Look-out point.

The infamous "Face Rock" (I didn't realize this was it when I took the pic - hence it's not really even the focus of this picture)

My Favorite Pic of the Day (good color combo and the seagulls couldn't have been better in place)

Neat pic the FJ & Face Rock in the background

A cool pic of the FJ and sunset at Bandon Beach

Winston met a girlfriend - "Mae" She was the top AKC bulldog ***** at one time and is now retired. Winston was so happy to get to play with his own kind it wasn't even funny! The breeder gave me his number and invited me over to see all 14 of his bulldogs (he is still breading), the next time I'm in town.

I'm going up there, to Gold Beach and then over through Cave Junction to Grant's Pass. Any great trails I should take? I do love that area. Thanks for the picts.

How's the water? Typical west coast fridged cold water upwelling?

I'm not really an offroader as it's a daily driver, that and I've only been here 2 weeks (I'm from MI). So what I'm trying to say is that I don't really know. There are a ton of dunes around here with a gozillion trails and tons of people go on them. I wouldn't mind doing some if I had a local to show me the trails and where to go!

Actually it's a lot warmer than I expected. Right now, the water in Lake Michigan is actually much colder than the Pacific off of Charleston/Bandon area of Oregon. We have been pleasently surprised!

That's funny! Had to look it up - "Come visit us again and again. This is a state of excitement. But for heaven's sake, don't move here to live" - Tom McCall Former Orygun Gov.
