Nemacolin

My wife and I headed to Nemacolin out in south western PA this past weekend for a little r&r. Of course we hit up the off-road academy and spent some time on the trails. This was my first return to water fording since my little incident a while back so I was a little hesitant but I was glad to get into it again...this time I won.

The course is restricted to FJs and Hummers. They will loan you one of their rigs if you don't want to use your own FJ or want to test out a H1 or H2. There was some good descents, great water fording, some mud pits and moderate rocks. It wasn’t crazy challenging, but was definitely a lot of fun. The trails are private so they require a “guide” but they pretty much leave it up to the comfort level of the driver. Overall it was one of the more fun trips yet.

Check out the video.

Re: Nemacolin

How much did they charge you to take your rig on their trails? I was there last January and if it hadn't been for the blizzard, I might have taken mine out. I don't have a lift, but I don't think Nemacolin's rigs have them either.

Also, do you have an auto or manual?

Re: Nemacolin

I think it cost around $100. It was a gift from my wife so I'm don't want to ask exactly how much, but it was around there. I know it's more if you use one of their trucks. It was a little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. Plus, the guide told me to call him direct next time I come out and he would take me or groups off property.

Your right, their FJs are all stock autos. I too have an AT but have a Donahoe lift that definitely helped in the water more so for peace of mind than necessity.

Re: Nemacolin

Thanks for the vid. Looks like a great place to relax, do some shooting and get in a little wheeling.
