Just got out of the LA Autoshow Preview night. Lots of great looking cars. I took some more shots of the covertible Sunfusion FJ. Not the best quality because my iphone doesn't have a zoom. Sorry.
I saw the Jeep concept but forgot to take a pic...too many vodka sodas.
The FJ is bada** but if I win the lotto I'm picking up the Porsche Trans-siberian rig. They had the one they drove across Russia, beat up tires scratched paint and all. Just awesome.
I asked the Toyota guy on the floor if they were coming out with a hybrid or diesel in the future. I didn't really expect an answer that I didn't already know. He said, "We invented the hybrid and every year we've come out with a new model with the hybird power plant so I'm sure its just a matter of time. Yeah no sh**.
Well it depends on what you want to see. I was not impressed with the toyota models. They only had the chopped top FJ and a red brick FJ. The other models nice but nothing really stood out.
I didn't get a chance to see the customized section they usually have downstairs. I'm not even sure they even have it this year.
The Lambo Raptor(I think that's what its called) is worth the price of addmission. It is the stealth fighter on four wheels. The hybrids are all over the place. Fuel Cell cars are well represented as well. The Trans-Siberian Porsche is worth the price of admission as well. Man I like that rig.
There are some cool concepts out there as well. Its the year of the flat screen display. Flat screens and light walls were everywhere.
Regarding the mods on the chopped top; I'm not sure what work was done under that thing. I'm not very versed in the ways of lifts and fabrications. I can say that the rag top itself looked a bit cheap. The top frame tubes were smaller than I would have expected. I would have liked to see it a bit beefer for lack of better discription. I liked the rims and the rubber visually but I think by looking at them its all for show and no go.
35's with only an OME lift? Was a body mount chop done?
That's what I'd like to know, too. I may have read somewhere that the wheel wells were so stuffed that it didn't appear the vehicle could even be steered normally. Anyone know more about this?

Just came back from the show today and noticed that the body mounts were not chopped on the FJC convertible concept. Those aren't factory rock rails either.
