Caught some huge trout in and around Taupo a few years ago. Really a cool area, lots of geothermal activity, volcanos etc.
Roads are tight and windy, great place for a race. New Zealand is an amazing place if you have never been there. I love that you can sit on a beach in the middle of a tropical fern grotto looking straight up into a glacier.
Also the friendliest people I have encountered in my wide travels.
I would have loved to have had an FJ while I travelled around the country, there were off roading opportunites at every corner it seemed.
