Man, I gotta tell you the Ouray County Sheriff's Dept. has really good taste in vehicles.

Re: The Brotherhood/Sisterhood of the SANDSTORMS Thread

Hi All, ad me to the list.

5AND5TORM... San Mateo, CA... June 16, 2008

I always liked the looks of FJC, but all I ever saw was the blue or yellow. One day I saw an all white TT, I thought, now that I like. Soon after I went to the local dealer to check one out, but when I got there I saw a sandstorm and ended up falling in love with it.

Yep. We were going to get the Titanium, but when we saw the Sandstorm on the lot, we both looked at each other and said, "What a sharp looking vehicle.".

Cool enough it was an FJ (which was the point for us - would have been happy with puke color or stripes or dots or anything), but then to see it like this...Man that looks classy.

Anyway, welcome to the Family.
I hope you enjoy the ride.
your brother, steven

Excellent, one more Sandstorm brother to the ranks .
If we continue like this, our color will stop being a "minority" at future events.

Thank you for finding us and joining us so quickly, we are very happy whenever we see a new member join. We look forward to learning more about you, your FJ, and your future adventures.

Cheers and welcome

Re: The Brotherhood/Sisterhood of the SANDSTORMS Thread

We just made it home from our fabulous two week Ouray-Moab adventure. We met a bunch of great people, but we missed our chance to meet a lot also. I never met my fellow SoCal sandstormer Kal, nor the famous Woodsman - even though we were at the same hotel.

A little Moab Mayhem:

We know you were hiding from us . Well at least we met your husband, and despite the brevity of our discussion, he seemed quite the genial and good fellow.

It was sad that we missed meeting and/or spending more time with more SS owners. Next time around, we'll make a more coordinated effort to make all other FJ subgroups feel like onion peelers .

On a personal level, I regret not having met you at the Summit time/space portal, but perhaps we'll run into each other at a local SoCal event soon. Until then, I wish you the best and thanks for that video post, it is another whiplash reminder for me to get to Moab sometime soon before my bones get too brittle.

Salutes
Kal.

Re: The Brotherhood/Sisterhood of the SANDSTORMS Thread

dirtchick = rockhound

Great Moab-moves you have there. I sense that Komombo is getting restless behind his desk.

Next time we are in the same hotel, we should put our room number or cell phone number on our FJs in case our FJ friends want to visit. I had a good time BSing with Trailbus, trailbusty, and SunFusionCruiser one evening while staying there. Good times. Those Hot Springs rooms had great sitting balconies overlooking the river. Seriously, I could move into one of those.

Re: The Brotherhood/Sisterhood of the SANDSTORMS Thread

At the DFW M&G for July, I had a really interesting adventure. FJinDFW, FL-Dozer and a few others bore witness to a genuine spectacle.

To make a long story short:

(Digger+Digger Jr.) + The DangerBuggy + a 6 foot tall pile of cow crap from the Historic Ft. Worth Stockyards =

At least it was another Sandstorm that pulled me out of the sh*t...

Clear Skies!!

Yeah, I cannot believe either how many Sandstorm owners that I met at the Summit said they missed this thread as well. I am glad though that eventually everyone will find us and we can gel together like the brotherhood/sisterhood we are.
Welcome to this thread, you have been added to the ranks. We look forward to all your future contributions.

BTW, here's a photo of the Ouray sheriff sandstorms that someone else posted on another thread:

Whoa... them's some purty cop cars!
