Re: Well, it's not a perfect match...

NICE!
I have a wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 and have it set up as my fishing machine. I have a 6 wt fly rod and fish mainly for Smalles and bluegill (did you realize that the Small Mouth isn't in the bass family but is in the Bluegill family???!).
Lots of both here in Mid TN. I'm not the typical trout-snob (or Orvis Model as we call them). Just like to be outside fishing.
Good looking rig.

nice! Lowrider works well. If you think it's a bit of a pain, try the Hully Rollers (I have them and they make it easy to roll it on), or even the Hullivator!

Loading one kayak is'nt a problem. Laoding two on their sides is the hard part. My Tarpon's 27" wide and my Extreme's 33". I have to go with loading them on their sides because they won't fit flat side by side.

On a side note, I'll be in Baja next week trying for my first tuna, dorado, and marlin from the yak! Woo hoo!!!!

Last night I bought one pair of the 'J' racks that go on my Yakima crossbars. I figured (and I'll know soon because we're both kayaking on Friday) I would put the wider Wilderness Systems Ride 135 flat on the crossbars, then put the narrower Tarpon 160 on the J rack. In my head that works, but in reality, we'll see!

Re: Well, it's not a perfect match...

Wow, really nice fish, both of you -

Must be thrilling to be towed around by those buggers (so powerful) -

Here is a shot of my FJ with a friends Fat-Yak on top -

Yeah that's a 20 foot Old Town canoe.

Fits on my ARB rack like a dream.

Sticks out all the way over the hood, and several feet out back -

One ratchet strap around the middle, and a single tie down (simple rope knot) front and back -

Solid as a Rock -

80 miles an hour on the freeway/highway up to Big Bear (from Fullerton). and it didn't budge -

Really digging your yak's -

Looks like a prefect match too me -

Re: Well, it's not a perfect match...

Seems crazy, but that canoe is pretty aerodynamic. Is your gas mileage much worse when it's on there?
