Australia Outback....

Ok this is way out there......(But then that's RadRod)
Very, very far from reality,(But then that's RadRod).

I want to investigate the possibilities of shipping Moses to AU and having an Outback adventure.

At this point I've just done preliminary research regarding the Au gov. regulations. But I have a lot more to do.

If anyone has any info or interest in participating pass it on.
Target date: August... AU Winter ..... 2-3 weeks

Re: Australia Outback....

Your greatest expense will be the Carnet de Passage, which is 200% of the vehicles value. It is essentially a bond against you selling the vehicle in Australia. It is possible for you to secure a bond against the Carnet, which can be purchased from the Canadian AAA.

Shipping costs are down quite a bit right now, due to the global recession and cheaper fuel. I just shipped back from Panama for about $1,800.

Best of luck on your adventure.

Re: Australia Outback....

Wish we could get some sponsorship. This would be the trip of a lifetime. Who just wants to get some guns together and see how far we can travel south through the Americas?

Re: Australia Outback....

The AU trip will take more planing than we can pull off by summer. (Unless I rent) (Which I might do)

GSFJ suggested the far reaches of the Northwest Territory.

That sounded real good.
1) No container shipping.
2) No Drug lords.
3) East Coasters could be there too.

If this is going to happen I /we need to get on it.

So how about Northwest Territories ? Mid to late July?
