Thanks for posting this. I am saving it to my computer in case I ever am at the glass shop with a broken windshield. This may save some headaches.

Re: Tech Alert: 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser (Windshield Magazine Article)

Tropiglass in Fort Myers must've been cutting edge then because they knew this back in September when they replaced my windshield. They even had a new cowl on standby but didn't use it because they were so careful when they took my old one off. Worked for me because my original cowl had clear shield paint protection film applied to it.

Nice article though and something that anyone who is having a shield replaced should print and take to your glass installer WHEN THEY'RE ORDERING THE PARTS FOR THIS JOB.

Thanks for the post. I'm getting my windshield replaced today and will make sure the tech reads this before starting.

Well at least I hope they'll be prepped for mine when they do it. My service guy actually told me to call him before I did it so he could order the parts. Tell me he didn't get a TSB(Toyota Service Bulletin) from higher up saying "HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!"

Re: Tech Alert: 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser (Windshield Magazine Article)

I drove to Apalachicola Florida from Atlanta and back over the weekend. The sound of some of those bugs hitting the windshield sounded just like rocks! I was waiting for a crack but it didn't happen. I had to soak the windshield and front end in windex for about 5 minutes before attempting to wash the truck...it worked!
