It is a hassle to post up a couple of pics yet you rant here 24/7 about it?
oh and to help you out again...English is capitalized.
Anyone else have any pics of a FJ that has "alleged" paint problems?
Thought I'd help you find them since you guys would rather try to deny than search things out. Oh, and if you decide to actually read the thread, you'll see way more "whiners" that are having the paint issues than all you "macho" guys that are not. Interestingly enough, one of the people raging on us for talking about the problem also admits to having the same issues... hmmmm.

Why do you so ardently scream for proof when you can do nothing for me about it. Again, if you work for Toyota then send me your corporate email address and I'll get pictures out your way from my professional photographer friend. As stated before, my camera is old and does not take good close-ups. I have absolutely nothing to prove to you or any other. You can demand all you want, but I still won't placate your curiosity or ego by going out of my way for someone with such an accusatory disposition. Be thankful that it is not happening to your FJ. Thanks for stopping by!
I think you'll find in life that offering compassion over accusations will get you what you desire, not the other way around!
P.S. Thanks for the correction, I made the edit

I took a look at the photos linked to wgpowner's post above: paint chips (bottom of the page) and that's EXACTLY what mine look like....only you can add them to the top of the hood (beyond the clear bra) and several of the side panels as well...

I'll step up and admit that I have chips. I'm not gonna go ask that Toyota do something about it though. I also have scrapes and scratches on my truck from offroading. Chips are something that happens when you live in Pennsylvania and they dump gravel on the road in the winters. I've dealt with chips on all my cars. If they offered a repaint as some sort of recall, I wouldn't take it. The FJ would just be chipped up again after next winter. Not to mention, I don't care if you have the best painter/bodyshop guy in the world, once you start repainting panels, the car is never the same and paint, especially on lighter colors, is very hard to get a perfect match on.
Use the search feature, there is a thread on here where people have posted several pictures of the problem.
Given your line of reasoning, I'm assuming you don't believe in Cancer either because you don't have it?
Thank you for the search. I saw those yet...
I still have yet to find any FJ pics that doesn't look like any other car out there with miles on them. Rock chips happen. Especially if driven on the highway.
I have owned/own a lot of Toyota vehicles, other daily drivers, and exotics that cost more than more peoples homes. They all had chips on them. Do I wish they didn't?...sure. What I don't do is cry a river, create a mob mentality with the sheep, and make threats of legal action.
Sure, if a car has a real defect it should be fixed or the car purchased back from the owner. But again...a handful of paint chips on a vehicle shaped like a brick? Oh come on.
These are paint defects...
This is not...
...and do believe in cancer? I do. I had skin cancer and with the help our our good Lord, we kicked it ass about 5 years ago. Maybe I should have called for a class action law suit against the sun.

Sorry about your skin cancer, but glad you beat it.
On that note though, although the paint chipping is not life threatening, since I don't have cancer, and don't know anyone personnally that does, I don't have the right to challenge you for pictures, or act like you don't have it, or simply say your blotches are just freckles, and you should just suck it out and live with it rather than try to have it fixed. Understanding that you can't sue God (although I'm sure some would/have tried), I imagine prayer would be his customer service line, and you may have called that number a time or two.
The title of the thread is a little misleading, and maybe put there out of a little frustration and a little wanting to get some discussion going, but as I'll state once again......
A lawsuit is a very last resort. I have been working with Toyota through this issue for awhile, and have remained patient. I only once got really pissed off when Alonzo Scates from Toyota customer service hung up on me. Was I ranting???? No, I simply mentioned this forum and the fact that there were quite a few people having similar issues. This was after stating that they have not gotten any complaints about paint and windshield issues. His comment was "you can find a forum for anything" and click.......
Not good customer service no matter who you are. Subsequently, when I called back the others were very friendly and helpful. Not getting all of the answers I want at this point, but still working patiently with them. To the point that I've offered for them to have my vehicle for awhile so they can get to the root cause.
I'll state again, I have had/have several vehicles (maybe not exotics as your fleet, but nice cars nontheless) and they have driven the exact roads and harsher than my offroad vehicle with the chip resistant paint has travelled. Funny thing is, the other car manufacturer doesn't offer chip resistant paint yet the paint hasn't chipped like the specially formulated chip resistant paint touted on Toyota's marketing material.

Reason: typo
That guy who hung up on you should have been fired.
and sure...call me out on anything as long as it's a topic I have brought up on this forum. That is what forums are about...discussion, conclusion and entertainment.
