Question Odd smell in the cabin on startup

My FJ is now 13 months old and over the past 2-3 weeks I've noticed an odd smell from the vents if the blower is on when I start my truck. I can't describe the smell because it's not like anything I've smelt before. It's not electrical, it's not moldy, it's not exhaust, and it's not anti-freeze. Just a weird, unfresh, smell that normally goes away in a minute or less.

Any ideas??

Re: Odd smell in the cabin on startup

I've heard of this problem on other vehicles...usually a filter replacement did the job. But very possible something dead or foul smelling soaks up the cabin while the air is stale that's why it smells on starting up but soon diminishes.

When the AC is running, and after it is turned off it attracts moisture. You might be smelling like a wet dust smell??? Is that what it smells like??
