LCS, did you get in touch with your field rep yet?
Rob Stettler, the Toyota District Rep with whom I'm working on this, will be returning from vacation on September 17th, at which time he'll be delivering a decision to both me and my dealership.

I'll post up the results as soon as I hear them next week. Thanks.

LCS.. does the decision just have to do with wether or not your panels will be replaced? (not that this is a minor thing just curious as to if they will be providing any other info for the rest of us..)

Take a printout of the thread with pics of the vehicles with the same issue. Try to point out the stock vehicles with little/no offroad time that demonstrate the same issue.

Got the printout already. I carry the Magnuson-Moss act in my wallet so the mod thing is covered. Anything else???

More of an overall decision as to what's going to be done in general. The way Mr. Stettler left it with me was, Toyota USA would be advising him as to what action will be taken following further research into the cause of the cracking. I interpret that as good news, since Toyota (hopefully) wants to be certain as to what the cause is before they direct a specific "fix."

I'm optimistically guessing that anyone else's dealership who has already initiated repairs at this point, has already received word from Toyota HQ that the cause has been determined, and that these current repairs are the result of a conclusive diagnosis (rather than just a "wild guess").

im not sure if the fix they are doing on mine is a defenite fix or just a test to see if the "new" panels will solve the problem.
