Let's put all these issues on You Tube and all of a sudden you'll have a hundred thousand and more hits and that will wake up Toyota. It's a numbers game and these problems should be on any major blogs. Once it affects sales then there will be action. Also there are plenty of of product liability laywers out there who will take note.
We need to be agressive in order to get any response from the big guys

I still think patience is a virtue on something like this. As several respected members within this thread have already said, it takes time for a remedy to come about. Considering that this
is still a relatively new discovery, it's very possible that Toyota
may have just recently become aware of this (perhaps thanks to what has been brought to light in this thread and those FJ owners who have taken the time to get their truck into their dealership for inspection/documentation).
At this point (and until otherwise proved wrong), the only true ally we have on fixing this problem is
Toyota. Putting them in a bad light with the public or making an issue of it on YouTube to hurt their sales, isn't the current logical thing to do while we're still in the middle of trying to solicit their assistance.
Plus, bringing a product liability attorney into the game would take all the power completely out of
our hands, and put it right into the deep pockets of that monetary-driven lawyer. In return, we'd be lucky if we end up with a miniscule settlement 3-5 years down the road, and not much more.
So, let's wait a little bit longer to see
exactly what Toyota
is planning on doing (or
not doing)
before we jump the gun with "aggressive" measures.
