I'm not disagreeing with any of that, Larry. But I think it is obviously incorrect to characterize this as a minor problem. It's not a minor problem when sheet metal starts to rip on a line of trucks that haven't even been in the field for two years. Yes, I think Toyota will step up the plate. I only hope it isn't a fundamental design issue. But it strikes me as fanboish to keep saying this is minor.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. While I do not enjoy the site of cracks in my inner fenders, they are not attached to the frame, not directly responsible for the support of any major/ critical componentry, and pose no immediate safety hazard to myself, and they are easily visible for monitoring the progress of the symptoms. So, IMO, while it is an important issue, and must be corrected, it is a minor problem. Having a fuel system shut off randomly, having a steering component subject to premature failure, having a brake system malfunction , these are problems that directly affect my safety and that of those who drive near me, and I would classify an issue involving any of those systems a "major" problem.
That being said, should Toyota choose not to correct / repair the problem, or should it be determined that this situation does affect the safe operation of the vehicle, I will immediately change my tune...

Holy crap, took about 5 hours of reading. Anyways, no bulges/cracks here.. yet, but then again, I never drove it off road, but do live in crappy NYC road condition.
It was purchased June 06.

Not sure how well these will look without a point of reference as there isn't a crack yet but there is a noticeable and palpable bulge. 14,000 miles, 80% on road, very light off-roading.
