fj short shift problem no top gears

I Got my fj on friday very excited in the process of driving how i lost all of my top gears no reverse, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 5th I had to drive it back to the dealer in 2nd and 4th. They got back to me yesterday saying they are still trying to diagnose the problem. Could it be that difficult what could this be?

My guess would be a factory defect. They'll replace something under warranty, and you'll be fine
