I left Ford because of poor customer service. I went for an oil change today on the wife's car, and they told me, "Ok, oil change, no problem. It'll be about 4 hours. You can wait in the lounge." I said, "You can pound sand in your 'lounge.'" I left, went to Kragen, bought the filter and oil, and tomorrow I will tackle the job.
Toyota has a service dept? Who knew? All you need is the maintenance/service and owners manuals and a few tools and you can be sure no one monkeys with your rig.
Just my opinion.
I should really shut my yap because I'd like to have my interior lights work again...

I cant believe the bad customer service from the dealer to corporate - ugh...
You wouldn't think that good customer service would be rocket science, except that so very few know how to really do it. Out of all the vehicles I've bought in 40 years of driving, only two dealers had a clue as to what real customer service is: The Kubota dealer where I bought my tractors and the Lexus dealer where I bought my wife's last car. The Lexus experience was phenomenal (after I had to ask someone to help me the first time in the showroom).

The best advice for service!

I understand that everyone is probably going to experience bad customer service at some point in their lives. It's just human nature. The service advisor at the dealership or the cashier at the store or whoever is having a bad day and they are NOT going to give you the best or any customer service like you would expect. But complaining here (and I'm not bashing anyone, just stating my opinion) is not going to help. If you leave whatever the establishment is WITHOUT telling the manager / owner about your experience, the problem probably won't get fixed. I used to be a store manager for several big box retailers and nothing would drive me more insane than to hear a customer complaining to me and tell me that "This is the 3rd time I got crappy service from ___________!" My question was always, "Then why didn't you tell me about it the first time?" Nothing wrong with letting folks here know when you have a problem at a dealer, but make sure you also let the folks at the dealer know about it so that something might get done about it.
Just my .02.....
