Angry Came home to this in my Driveway.

Just got my oil changed at the dealership. After being parked all night came home from the store to find fresh oil spots in the driveway. Open the hood and I have Oil all over the inside of the engine compartment. Can't wait to see the service manager on Tuesday ...

Looks like someone forgot to tighten the cap to me. Good help is hard to find.

You may want to crawl underneath and make sure your drain plug is tight. If they forgot to tighten the filler cap, I would be checking everything they did, including the oil level.

This is why I avoid stealership service at all costs.

Re: Came home to this in my Driveway.

Check to see if oil filter is tight and if the oil cap is on.

Check your oil level before you try to start the FJ.

With the FJ running, see if the filter is leaking.

It is very easy for oil to get trapped in the frame and or skidplates during an oil change and that is probably what happened but check these others and then take it back and have them clean under your FJ and redo your oil change.

Hit them up for a discount on any future mods. If you talk to the manager you may get it.

Yep, this is the reason I hate going to a dealership for anything. Either they screw something up or say there is no problem.

Re: Came home to this in my Driveway.

I didn't look at the pics. They left your oil cap off. You only loose about 1/2 a quart when this happens but the risk is something falling in the filler tube.

Have them do an engine flush and give you a guarantee against any engine damage for 12000 miles.

Still get the discount on the mods.

Re: Came home to this in my Driveway.

Wow, I was just having this conversation today. I told my hubby I needed and oil change. I said that I wanted to go to the dealership b/c FJ new model and did not want people who use to work at (pick your fast food restaurant) working on it. Man, I can't believe they would make such a basic mistake. I hope they reimburse you for your oil change, clean up the mess they have made and offer a couple more free oil changes (done correctly of course!)
