Rust

I noticed today that I have several rust spots all over the body of my FJ. The driver side rear quarter panel is the worst. We live in an environment where the winters are not harsh and there is little salt on the roads that can contribute. Anyone else having this problem??

Rust? Actual metal oxidation that has broken through the paint? Are these in areas where the paint was chipped off along with the galvanized layer of metal?

Can you post pics?

If you do have actual rust take it back to the dealer. It has a warranty against corrosion.

Re: Rust

Better take a close look at the warranty. Some only cover 'rust through' creating a hole in the metal. If so, ouch!

Re: Rust

Holy crap....some of us work you know..we can't be on the web all day. Went to the dealership and because the rust is not from the inside of the body out, it's due to tiny rock chips and corrosion they will not cover it and they are blaming it on design. His only words of wisdom is to polish the truck.

I live in British Columbia, I have taken the vehicle off road less than 5 times, very little salt on the roads here come winter. I really don't know what to say but anyone want to buy a used FJ? Only 33,000 km and "lady" driven.
