Garry, I just called The Mall Of Georgia Toyota where I bough my FJC for you and I explained your situation with Milton Toyota and they said to bring it in and let them look at it and they will look if Toyota put something out about the gear problems or may just do the repair anyway after looking at it...If you wanna know more just PM me your phone number and I'll call you.
Milky - Worst case, if even this doesn't help, shoot me a PM. My uncle is in a high executive position at United Motors who own Atlanta Toyota and he may be able to get a message to someone higher up than that district service manager. At very least, he may be able to get some phone numbers or advise you on the best way to move forward with getting this solved in a strategic manner.
I'd at least try that route before filing a suit. However, In the end, you may end up needing to file suit purely to compensate you for the cost of a rental as your FJC may be out of comission until you can get this fixed.

So I just got off the phone with Toyota and they're refusing to cover it because the dealer wrote it up as "rear diff broken because of abuse." Because of that Toyota won't cover it. Even though tons of other diffs are blowing up, 2 of which were covered down at Atlanta Toyota, they won't cover mine. I requested a special investigator to go look at my truck but my options are pretty thin right now. So, thanks toyota for really backing up your products.
OK, that is a bunch of bull ****. Sorry, but it just is. Don't let it go. Fight it tooth and nail. And please take Sylvain and Kyle up on their offers!

Screw Milton. Some cranky service manager knew how to fcuk this up for Milkyxj by contacting Regional. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed at that place. Even the FJ TT member that made two different visits on the same day said the guy at Milton was kinda pissy to him as well.
Take FJCRUSR up on the offer to take it to MoGA Toyota and at least let them look at it. It doesn't sound like Milton even took the time to drop the 3rd and look at it. They just took one look at your winch, bumper and tires and said "Abuse". I've got video of the first climb you did and you just walked up it and only spun a front tire slightly. No video of the diff breaking hill though.

I had a conversation on the phone earlier with Garry and we talk about that possibility after trying the more friendly aproched...
40 or so FJ Cruiser in a parking lot could do a lot of good or damage, that would be up to us!
But we need to focus on making these dealership recognize the problems so we can all benefit from it.
When one truck is down like this, it affects all of as I may be the next one to blow my rear diff.
If I do something stupid with my truck, it's my problem...but if a part is known to be defective, it is irrelevant that you wheel your truck and Toyota should take care of it.
Few of those technician at dealership have had to deal with FJ Cruiser yet because they are still relatively new vehicles on the market, but their ignorance should not be our problem!
I hope this all make sence...
Just my $0.02
Good points Sylvain.
Here is an interesting read about "tips for getting problems solved" from TundraHeadquarters.com.
Also, I found this map with a Toyota Regional Contact List.
If going through the proper channels doesn't get anywhere, I think an organized and advertised "Meet & Greet" in the vicinity of a certain Toyota dealership would be fun.
