Anyone have any ideas? I went for an awesome day of road biking, came back, popped open the back window, then shut it.........THUD. No latch. I tried a key in the latch to cycle it, and it still won't work The red "open door" light on the dash is on now and will be on all night unless I figure something out...grr

When I took a test drive the dealer had the same problem. I can't remember what he did for sure. But I think he turned the key to the lock position, then to the upright position, pulled out the key and then closed it. It seems that he slammed it kind of hard too.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I'd suggest a piece of black electrical tape on the dash over the red "open door" light, but that's probably NOT the solution you'd like. I thought a little levity might help just a tad.
Hopefully KLD's memory is good and that will work. Otherwise you're off to the dealership.
Glad your bike ride was awesome. I did a short (40 mile) road ride along the beach today (a day off from the hills!).
Yours maybe broken, who knows. I did think this last week when I gingerly close the rear window and it didn't latch. Had to slam it. I'm sure you've tried that already.
Our other vehicle, the RR sport is also like minded. Gotta show her who's boss
I thought about this some more. The latch is electrical as opposed to mechanical. Maybe the first time you pushed it closed the latch was already in the closed position. If you drove around with the rear window open and had push the door lock button, then the latch may have locked without the window hasp in the locking mechanism. So possibly you have to put the key in and trick it into thinking you are opening the window. Then the latch with been ready to receive the hasp bracket on the window. Just a thought.
