Re: Leaky Roof? Post your leaky roof problems here!

Maybe this will be addressed on the assembly line after several service complaints---maybe an argument to be made to wait for next yrs. model if you havent bought yet??
Nothing I would hate worse than knowing there was water where it shouldnt be inside.
Most any other problems can be fixed w/o "residual" things happening like rust, mold, corroded wiring---water damage can haunt you years later.

Re: Leaky Roof? Post your leaky roof problems here!

Got it back yesterday, took almost two weeks to get the windshield in from who-knows-where. They replaced the windshield, mouldings, and dam. Parts numbers are 56101-35070, 56117-35070, 75532-35010, 56117-35140. Raining right now so we'll see if that's the fix.

After I got the FJ on 3/22, it was nothing but rain. FJ stayed out for a week in pouring rain, no leaks anywhere.

Has to be an isolated thing.

I don't have a roof rack, and left it outdoors during Alberto.

Wind, rain, and more wind.

Not a drop on the headliner or seatbelts.

12500ish VIN.

Re: Leaky Roof? Post your leaky roof problems here!

Well...

Washed the car today...

Was drying it off...

Got to the windshield...

Saw a single drop of water...

On the inside of the windshield!

It came down from the top of the windshield on the passenger side between the first and second dots (right to left). While examining it, a second one came down from the same spot...

Calling the dealer tomorrow.

Only 15" of rain/year but it's raining every time you post! lol

I have the wet driver's side seatbelt when it rains. Happened twice now. I know, I know, use the search...

Yeah, we broke a record for the first two weeks of June...6 inches. Thought I was living in Seattle again...

Re: Leaky Roof? Post your leaky roof problems here!

Well, looks like I'll be getting another new windshield...

Service guy said they need to replace the replacement window they installed a few weeks ago...

Sad part is I just know that we're finally gonna get this leak fixed one day and then I'll go and catch a big rock right in the new glass!

Washed mine at a high pressure rack at work the other day, got in and noticed water comming in between the door and body on the passenger side.
Washed it a few times at home with normal pressure and things were dry, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Re: Leaky Roof? Post your leaky roof problems here!

I got my windshield replaced a couple of weeks ago and took the FJ to a car wash (automatic) and almost instantly the passenger upper liner was wet. I took the truck back to where the windshield was installed this morning. The guy said that there was a little screw in one of the top molding clips that goes through the body??? Anyway he said that he fixed it and it should be okay now. But if not, then he said that he would have to take the windshield back out. My luck, he will have to take the windshield out.
