I, too, usually have to rock it hard for one side to finally "click" in place.
Related note: I noticed that one of the questions on the Toyota post-purchase survey specifically asked how the seat was regarding to locking in place or being loose when driving. Almost like they know there's an issue...

When I change seat positions after the wife drives it I have to push back or forward pretty good to get it to lock into the new position. After that I have no movement.

Re: Drivers Seat Movement
Same here.. I keep the seat all the way up for hip position issues and slide it all the way back to get out. Each time I get back in and slide it forward the left side doesn't want to lock. Ron
PS; I figure using it every time it'll break eventually and then I'll get a new one..

If you use the sprocket crank to raise the seat up for knee support/angle adjustment, that can cause movement that you feel when cornering sharply and when you move around in your seat to get more comfortable...I have this problem on my seat as well...It's caused by the small tube bracket that runs across the lip of the seat cushion...There are teeth on each side of it that come together on the crank mechanism assembly...There is a little bit of play in those teeth that cause the front of the cushion to wiggle and lift...Sadly, there is indeed no fix for this, it's just the way the seat is designed...
