moisture built up in headlight.

My drivers side headlight is fogged up. I dont know how it happened. I checked the seals and they are still good. I washed my truck and it started to do it afterwards. I left my truck running with the headlights on and it evaporated. I came back 10 minutes later and it was already back. Anybody have any advice?

Re: moisture built up in headlight.

Sounds like a warranty issue to me. As long as they can see it by the time you get it to the dealer.

Get the dealer to look at it. If they won't do anything about it, drill a small diameter hole at the bottom of the plastic headlight lens.

Re: moisture built up in headlight.

Did you do a bulb replacement? The only way I could see water getting in there is that the rubber gasket is installed wrong or there is something stuck in it. It is a total peice of cake to check.

Re: moisture built up in headlight.

I've seen that in mine on really humid days. The moisture evaporates off with just the daytime running lights.

Re: moisture built up in headlight.

From a past Experience, Drill a 3/16 inch hole up from the bottom of the light.
It will let the small amount of air in to dry it out and keep it that way.

you would think that, but I took my wifes van in for that same issue and they wanted t oreplace the whole assembly with me paying for parts plus the 50 dollar warranty deductable. No thanks, It's cheaper to notice little water drops once in a while. that drill idea sounds good buy wouldnt it let in more moisture? I would let it sit in the sun, then get a hot blowdryer blowing into the lightbulb hole then put some silicone grease around the seating seal. I said would, I'm too lazy to actually do it.
