Re: Front Diff Seals leaking again

it may help also i let them do all my service?
and i get a strong impression they really care about their customers and their satisfaction. and that is probably also why they have a lot of return customers. this place sells all models like crazy..

Frog....did you have them check the diff. seal on top like I told ya'???
Ya they were all over it. The leak was coming from the right side front diff seal. I've got the suspension lowered a bit now. My FJ has a slight rake to it again. I also think the suspension is working better now. My half shafts are sitting level once again. I'm going to add some limit straps and add another .25inches or so back into the lift. And hopefully, I'll be good to go. There's nothing much to those seals btw. I'm going to be buying a set with plans to service it myself if and when it leaks again. I'm really curious to measure my current droop and then compare it to stock droop. I plan to adjust the straps to limit the droop to the stock droop length. This may be overkill I know.

Re: Front Diff Seals leaking again

Frogeye!!!! So we planned on going wheeling this morning....I had read over this thread yesterday...and low and behold I have a leak @ the upper boot argggggg!!! Both sides have grease coming out...... It's not the same as yours, but this thread still made me inspect that area...I'm thinking a hose clamp outta do the job well @ least for awhile. Going to have my mechanic buddy look over just to make sure...if its a problem my good friend from high school is the head of service @ one of our dealers here, so I may be able to be helped without too much drama.

Thanks for the heads up, ya may have saved my butt today I will report back if anything comes from this.

Good luck friend hopefully this one will stay fixed!!

Right on. Did you get your boots tightened yet? You know it's not a bad Idea to crawl underneath our rigs on a regular basis. We do wheel them so you know.

Re: Front Diff Seals leaking again

Ya bastad I've got OCD, ya dont think I'm under there ever second i know all the bolts and parts, I just hadn't looked high up on the boot for a couple weeks but due to this (thank you kind sir) I found something. Tighten the boots?? I had no idea you could do this.....I guess you just fixed my problem. How do you tighten them, when one fell off of blackcherry's rig @ the summit we could not loosen it to get it back on let alone tighten it back up...I just used tie wire
