Antenna problem

I've searched high and low and couldn't find any information on defective antennas.

Anyways, I get really poor reception in certain parts of town that seem abnormal. If you are driving outside of town, and your behind a mountain range that is one thing. But Salt Lake sits in a big valley and I've driven other cars and rode in other peoples cars and never had trouble with reception. That is until I bought my FJ.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here. I've taken it to the dealership, but unfortunatly the reception is generally good where its located. I've also put in CDs to verify that its not the speakers.

As a piece of additional information, I bought it used and it has XM radio which I don't use. So i'm guessing the antenna either has been modded or even replaced????

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'll have to go to the dealership and ask them to go for a 20 minute ride with me so I can show them the poor reception areas. But I'm not sure what they will be willing to do for me even in that scenario.

Thanks,

Kalen

Re: Antenna problem

The wire is probably unplugged from the back of the radio. That would cause bad signal while not in town but still sound normal while in town.
